Since awaking that morning, the tortoiseshell she-cat had been rather quiet. Whether it was due to her having a lack of things to say or because she wasn't feeling in the best of moods, she wasn't sure herself and decided that everybody must have days when they weren't so talkative as they may usually find themselves being. Her mouth would often open to start up a conversation with a warrior near her but when she would go to talk, the words would be forgotten and she'd start to feel embarrassed. Eventually Brindlepaw had made the decision to sit down in the corner of the camp and watch as everybody went about their business. Who knew, maybe someone would approach her and start to make small talk. About the weather, how the hunting was - any of this would be fine by her. As long as it got her being a little more sociable without her being swamped by her clanmates, she was happy.
It felt like she had been sitting there forever when she decided that she was going to need to sort out her lack of company by herself. With a loud huff, she got up onto her paws once more and looked around, part of her tempted to go up to somebody and say hello. They wouldn't bite, she knew that. It wasn't like anybody in the clan was dangerous, as far as she was aware of. Yet she felt like she would make a fool of herself in some way and get laughed at. Brindlepaw didn't like being around big groups because more often that not, she would do something that she felt embarrassed herself. There was only one individual right now who she felt wouldn't laugh if she did something silly and would be a friendly face. So towards the medicine den she headed.
When she reached the entrance, she peered in and glanced around. "Mintnose? Are you in here?" she called out hopefully. She could smell the welcoming scent of herbs and this pulled her into stepping fully inside, her green gaze glancing down at the ground as she looked at the different herbs on the ground. It was exciting to think that, one day, she would be able to name all of them off by heart and know of their uses. She didn't know many right now but in time she would learn and it would be fun. While a part of her was timid around Mintnose, she wanted them to be friends and that wasn't going to happen by her avoiding him. "Mintnose!" Brindlepaw said again, this time much quieter than before since she didn't know what he was doing or if he was even in the den. The apprentice was determined to talk to the older tom and if he wasn't in, she would try again later on, just so that she could say she was putting an effort in with her mentor. It would be nice to get to know him anyway.
