Hollowpaw is a bit of an evil genius in the making. He's stoic, unreadable, intelligent and calculative, all of which are good qualities for an evil genius—if only he was genuinely evil. He definitely deserves a spot on everyone's radar, but he doesn't dedicate himself to rule-breaking or evil in the plain sense of the word. On the contrary, he's an obedient, efficient member of his Clan, and he'll undoubtedly become a strongly revered warrior in his time. Hollowpaw is asocial to a tee. He's comfortable on his own, and he has no desire for romance or friendships. His view of the world is far from black and white; he's a manipulator and a deceiver thorough and thorough, and he'll toy with somebody's emotions without them even realizing it if they're not careful. He likes to to take advantage of weaknesses and faults in those around him, but if none are exposed, he won't go digging for them as he's reluctant to be found out. Overall, he's an opportunist and a bit of a slippery snake. Proceed with caution or don't proceed at all.
I'd like to clarify right off the bat that Hollowpaw will never truly have friends, but that doesn't mean I'm not looking for some cats around his age for him to interact with and possibly "befriend". He's dismissive towards the idea of forging bonds unless there's something in it for him. I'm mostly looking for interaction outside of ShadowClan. I think Hollowpaw would be interested in getting on a non-ShadowClan cat's good side in the hopes of seeing what becomes of it down the road if tensions ever arise between their Clans or loyalties need to be tested. I could easily imagine him weaseling into their head and playing the role of the innocent, concerned friend. If they took the bait, he'd turn on them in an instant for his Clan and call it quits. He's not looking for anything long-term here. His friendships will be small, short-lived games to him. I'm unsure of how to proceed in regards to his enemies. He'll obviously make an enemy out of anybody he plays, but outside of that realm, he's genuinely likable until he decides he no longer wants to be. Hollowpaw, despite his disinterest in socialization, is polite and poised for the sake of keeping up pretenses, so it could potentially be difficult for cats to decide on their own (and without any influence from him) that he's an enemy of theirs. I'm certainly open to ideas. Maybe your character thinks his niceness is false or too practiced? Hollowpaw would want to bring an end to suspicion, and it could bring out some of his darker qualities a little quicker. Romance is something that excites me a lot for Hollowpaw. He's as disinterested in romance as he is in friendships, so I could see him having a lot of flings or false romances for the sake of his own amusement. I'm open to as many characters having crushes on him as people are willing to offer, but I'll be very clear in saying he's unlikely to reciprocate unless it's one of his ploys. Sometime down the road he might have kits (he is heterosexual and I imagine he can at the very least appreciate beauty) but I'm not sure how that relationship will proceed. Thankfully, he's very young, so there's plenty of time to figure it out. Of course, these are simply a couple of ideas among many. You're welcome to come forward with your own ideas. I'd love to hear what you have in mind.---
Oakclaw has a difficult shell to crack. He tends to mind his own business, and he expects the same courtesy from others. He has never been a charming, charismatic cat, so he relies heavily on action to get his point across; unfortunately his actions are oftentimes insensitive and uninviting. He’s a traditional warrior of the Code for the most part, but he has his own ideas on how things are supposed to be done. He doesn’t like it when his expectations aren’t being met, and despite not being much of a talker, he won’t hesitate to clear the air on where he stands with someone. Oakclaw comes across as domineering and intimidating, but he has the best interest of RiverClan at heart in everything that he does. If something is genuinely wrong he’ll do everything in his power to right it, and in that sense of the word he’s incredibly easy to rely on, but small, feeble matters should be brought to his attention at the cat’s discretion. He doesn’t like to have his time wasted, and if he believes there’s a simple, obvious solution to a problem, he can become snappish and standoffish.
I’d love for Oakclaw to have friends, but unfortunately his personality makes it difficult for him to reach out emotionally or accept any kind of bond. A friend in Oakclaw’s books will more specifically be an ally: If your cat is someone he can rely on when RiverClan is in trouble, or someone he can count on to reciprocate his opinions, then you’ll be as close to a friend as it gets. I think he could eventually loosen up around someone if they were a steadfast, trustworthy presence in his life over a long period of time without discrepancies, but we’ll have to wait and see how that plays out. An enemy is already anyone that isn’t a RiverClan cat. His priority is his Clan, and only his Clan, so he won’t even consider wasting his time on someone that isn’t tied to it. He’ll be civil in certain social situations that call for it (like Gatherings) but his intentions will never be up for debate. If there’s a way for him to solidify an advantage for RiverClan, or press a weakness for another Clan, he’ll do it without hesitation or remorse. Romance is going to be the trickiest plot point for Oakclaw. If you’re reading this and haven’t read his bio, I suggest skimming it for mention of a certain she-cat named Palebreeze. She was his best friend (which says a lot about where the two of them stood since he has trouble let alone calling anyone his friend) and even though they were never officially mates, she was the only one that could’ve eventually become that to him. Her death hit him, and it hit him hard, so it’s severely unlikely that he’ll willingly crawl back from the dark place he’s found himself in when it comes to love. I don’t want the first she-cat that comes into his life to be a success, because I think it’s too unlikely of a turn-out. Once he realizes someone he has potentially been spending a fair amount of time with has developed feelings for him, he’s going to become… unpredictable. It’ll undoubtedly cause him to shut down, lash out, and throw up walls to prevent it from progressing. One day he might apologize to the poor she-cat that finds herself in this position, but he’ll want her to understand she was the first one to try and squirm into his heart after Palebreeze, and at this point in time he’s not ready to consider that an option. The second, or perhaps even the third (or fourth lol let’s make him a heartbreaker) might have a chance, but I’m going to be a little picky about how this plays out so I hope nobody gets offended. Even if someone does eventually secure the position of his mate, they’ll never be to him what Palebreeze was—so that begs the question if it’s something your character will be able to accept? It could cause issues down the road in their relationship, and since he’s so protective of Palebreeze (even in death) he wouldn’t cooperate if his mate started to get upset or jealous.---
