BLUE-EAR IS A SYSTEM.
blue-ear [host]
she-cat, she/her | polysexual (she-cats, non-binary)a spunky, bright she-cat. she borders on egoistic, and is always happy to volunteer for clan work. it's not like she doesn't do it well; this is a very dexterous, perceptive warrior, with an excellent sense of balance. perhaps she's not actually the clan's best, but that's not important.
she's an energetic, enthusiastic she-cat, and her manner of acting high-and-mighty can make it easy to consider her abrasive. arrogant, blue-ear is confident in her abilities, and even a little impulsive, but she does not make friends easily. perhaps she's even a bit rude, flippant, callous. despite this, she has a good heart, and is definitely a very driven she-cat with a strong sense of purpose and a desire for personal improvement.
deeper in, blue-ear is rather troubled by her condition. although her short-term memory is great, as blue-ear is very attentive, she has poor long-term memory and regrets sharing large blocks of time unaware when robinheart is at the front half the time. she isn't so callous as to voice this, though, given the tom's obvious insecurities about the subject. internally, blue-ear is pretty sure she's a bitter, selfish cat, and so she has a tendency to push her loved ones away as if to "protect" them from heartbreak she believes inevitable.
robinheart [protector/caretaker]
tom, he/him | gaya mild, dreamy tom. he has a tendency to overexert himself. he is very loyal to thunderclan, and named himself in hopes of filling the role.
robinheart is overall a rather quiet tom. though he is friendly and gentle, it's easy to tell when he's at the front, because it appears blue-ear has actually shut up for a second. he takes his role as a caretaker very seriously, almost to the point of codependency. though he means well, robinheart is nosy and deeply insecure, and though he often doesn't realize it, tends to hold back the ones he claims to love under the guise of protecting them. he holds himself responsible for his loved ones when inappropriate, and tends to overwork himself in the process.
despite his criticisms of blue-ear's self-centered attitude, robinheart is also somewhat selfish. he is willfully ignorant, and dislikes dealing with difficult topics. he is somewhat manipulative, and despite his claims, is a liar, most often my omission. he craves the validation of other cats, especially thunderclan cats, to maintain himself, and so in the process of attempting to please everyone, can be rather in-genuine.
badger [trauma holder/protector]
she-cat, she/her | n/aa violently defensive she-cat. she mainly comes to the front when the body is in perceived danger, but is not loyal to thunderclan, or any other cat by that matter. she rarely speaks, but is often observing, looking for threats. while she does not attack unprovoked, badger is a rather sensitive she-cat, and her bark is not worse than her bite. she prefers to end threats quickly, and is not one for negotiation or conversation, being rather disinterested in other cats. she cares strongly about the body's health, but is not motivated by the protection of any particular other personality in the system.
history
bluekit was born one spring morning with her brother, falconkit. their parents, chipmunkface and flameclaw, were a first-time pair, and were not particularly close. when flameclaw was killed, bluekit was only 3 moons old, and had only been visited by him a few times. chipmunkface briefly mourned her lost clanmate, and life went on.
chipmunkface was... an inexperienced mother. she was fulfilling her duty to the thunderclan, but was never unkind. an older queen, darknose, helped the family to prosper, and soon bluekit had grown a spunky, energetic young she-cat--if a bit antisocial.
bluekit was soon bluepaw, and her apprenticeship went much as usual for a bit, until her mentor was killed by a badger while the two were participating in a patrol. they had been hunting when her mentor caught the whiff of a badger, and perhaps irresponsibly decided to impromptu join their efforts. it was gruesome--the she-cat's neck was cut and her body soiled as the rest of the cats scuttled to escape a similar fate. in the end, two warriors were lost in the 5-cat group, and bluepaw was left frozen in terror to watch as the battle was lost.
bluepaw, being a little over 6 moons old, narrowly escaped her mentor's fate with a nasty gash on her leg from the badger's bite. her savior was, unfortunately, killed as she was ushered out by the remaining, retreating tom.
it had felt like a dream, but when bluepaw went to sleep that night, her mentor was not at her den. it was a different she-cat, iceheart, who had been assigned just that night before, in her dream.
iceheart was a warm she-cat, more experienced than bluepaw's first mentor had been. she taught bluepaw about death--perhaps it was a bit early for her to learn like this, but it was not uncommon for apprentices to lose their mentors. the life of a warrior was a hard one, but it was one bluepaw was born to undertake.
for a while, bluepaw rejected this reality. she expressed interest in becoming a medicine cat apprentice, but the role was already taken. at a little over 7 moons, bluepaw did a 180 and appeared to take full pride in her warrior training--much to the clan's relief, although her mentor was a bit worried by the rapid change.
bluepaw appeared back to her confident ways, with perhaps even a bit more fervor. she never seemed to quite grow out of her immaturity and impulsiveness, though.
when she was 15 moons old, she began to realize that sometimes she didn't quite act... herself, in a very encompassing way. her memory had become increasingly poor and she often didn't remember entire days' worth of information. it wasn't until she was 22 moons old that a voice sprang up, clear thoughts and feelings that weren't hers ringing in her mind.
finally, one night, when she was 26 moons of age, blue-ear cracked and left camp at night to do... whatever it was would work. speaking aloud, a voice responded, taking control of her body. at first she was frightened, but soon she was relieved--something had gone through. she continued this until the voice taught her how to communicate silently, through thoughts.
at first, blue-ear was reluctant to commune with the voice, but eventually grew practiced and used to it for the sake of having a stable, organized life. robinheart was the first to appear and spoke kindly to blue-ear. badger first came to the front when blue-ear was 29 moons of age, during a fight which nearly resulted in another clan cat's death. blue-ear took the brunt of the scolding for this.
