The river was something that Yarrowface would always identify as a part of his home. He truly loved it and had always done so, even on the days when it would roar as it raced past during a stormy day. Nothing about it could ever scare him - it was a major part of the clan, for starters being the very thing in which it was named after and determining their lifestyle. Other clans would usually avoid ever going near water and would stick to the land prey, or at least that was what he had always been taught but his clan were different and he liked that. His home was unique and he couldn't have been any prouder of it.
He recalled one of his fondest memories of it during his apprenticeship, a smaller version of himself racing along it as if he thought he ever had a chance of finding where it led to and complaining to Roseface when he had been unsuccessful. The elderly she-cat had laughed at him and given him a playful nudge, telling him that it didn't matter and there was prey waiting back home for them. When really, as he led the way, she had jumped in the river and began to splash him with water. His playful streak had given him the urge to go and join her and it was quite a few hours later that they returned back to camp just as the sun was beginning to set. Then there were other days with Fernpaw, Thistlepaw and Kestrelpaw, the three apprentices who two of which had devastatingly joined StarClan due to what the clan had all believed was a fox attack. It made Yarrownose feel nostalgic and he felt himself choking up. So much had changed since he was young and it made him wish that all those lost could still walk alongside him.
Yarrownose reached the side of the river and he lowered his gaze down to it, letting out a deep content sigh as he allowed for his tail to fall in. He didn't care, he was used to water and he felt comfortable in his ability to swim. Sitting where he was, he could forget about any troubles he may have had and anything that may have had him stressed out. All of that did not matter to him at this moment in time. He just felt so relaxed and he felt as if he could have stayed in that spot for the rest of the day. Of course, he knew he couldn't and so he would enjoy it whilst he could.
