driven into the open (open event)

dainty paws struck the once barren plains, determination driving the rhythmic steps. green eyes focused on a spot in the distance - a destination for her - and barely wavered. the aftermath from the storm was not concerning for the she-cat; it was nothing more than an inconvenience. the patrol that followed in her wake was nothing more than a simple border patrol, to ensure that no enemy warriors got too acquainted with their borders. it may have been preemptive given the deluge that was unleashed upon the clan the previous night, but asterfang wasn't stupid enough to give the other clans the benefit of the doubt.

glancing over her shoulder, her eyes narrowed slightly at foxfang. he was a young warrior, one she wasn't too freidnly with, other than the odd hello here and there when they crossed paths. it was an alien feeling for the she-cat, not knowing all of the warriors well enough to read them. she filed that away on things to do for later. now, she had to focus on the task at hand. changing their direction with a flick of her tail, the pale tabby's brow furrowed at a scent she knew all too well. her small jaws parted ever so slightly, and her tail lashed back and forth, the hair along her neck and spine rising in response. her pace slowed until she was standing still, her ears pinning back to her skull.

"fox." her voice was a low growl, not wanting to be too loud as to alert the creature. she wasn't able to pinpoint exactly where the stench was coming from, but she was on alert.
