Lionsong
14 Moons - Female - PANsexual - THUNDERCLAN - Warrior - image credit
Lionsong isn't the easiest cat to get along with on the best of days. She is very easily irritated, be it someone disagreeing with her or a cat acting recklessly in her eyes, it doesn't take much to ruffle her feathers. The only ones who earn Lionsong's patience is kits and the best of her friends. Lionsong is always under the impression that her opinion is the correct opinion and has a very difficult time taking criticism. There is a certain dance that one must preform when dealing with Lionsong; thankfully, most of her clanmates have learned this by now and know how to avoid earning her ire. Other clan cats are open game though. This she cat completely lacks in any kind of social etiquette. She is very blunt and rude with her observations and doesn't have much filter between her brain and her mouth. This does make Lionsong a very truthful cat but most of her clanmates find her short-spoken comments rather upsetting. Along with this, Lionsong cannot stand liars and will lose all respect for a cat who lies straight to her face. Still, as snippy as Lionsong can be, she still possess some tact and knows when to keep her mouth shut when the situation calls for it. Lionsong grew up as a very serious she cat and still maintains her no nonsense attitude. She is all work and no play and is never one to fool around on the job. She takes her duties as a warrior seriously and will only ever let her hair down when all her duties are finished and she is surrounded by the comfort of her friends. With her abrasive nature, she has grown to have a very thick skin and very little phases her. To outsiders, this makes Lionsong seem very cold and emotionless. It is this cold-bloodedness that makes her such a good warrior. She has the ability to keep a calm mind in any situation especially battle, and never lets emotion skew her decision making. Lionsong has a natural affinity for strategy and forethought. Her sharp mind is her best tool and she takes particular pleasure in out smarting others. Her smarts make her rather pompous most of the time and she tends to think that she's the smartest in the room. Her brilliance is also makes her expect the same level of intelligence from others around her, and she gets easily annoyed when someone else cannot keep up with her train of thought. Lionsong is very perceptive of her environment and utilizes all her sense when hunting or fighting. Unfortunately, this always makes her tense and ready for a battle which can be quite exhausting at times. This hyper-vigilance makes her sensitive to all the cats around her; her clanmates included, not just her enemies. Lionsong is usually one of the first cats to spot when something is going on with one of her clanmates, but she lacks the tact and social intelligence to approach them about it properly. | Description: A large calico she cat with hazel eyes. It would take many moons for Lionsong to grow into her name. But on the day of her birth her mother, Wildflower, did not know that. All she saw when she looked down at her eldest kit was her mate, Lionstar. Wildflower nearly burst into tears when she first laid eyes on her calico she kit. She clung to the newborn kit whispering her dead mate's name like a mantra, ignoring the concerned looks the medicine cat was throwing her way. Wildflower had been earning herself many pitying looks ever since the death of her mate; she was used to it by now. The newly dubbed Lionkit might not be the reincarnation of her mate, like the delirious Wildflower believed, but she certainly resembled her father very much. The blood of the ThunderClan leader ran strong through her veins. But, Lionkit was not very lion-like upon the moment of her birth. In fact, it took her several rousing licks from her mother to start breathing, much like her other siblings. Wildflower had come down with greencough several moons before giving birth to her kits and continued to struggle against the sickness while giving birth to her kits. Then the kits themselves started showing signs of whitecough, the medicine cat took it upon himself to transfer the mother and kits into the medicine cat den for further observation. In Lionkit's humble opinion, the medicine cat's den was absolutely boring! There were no other kits to play with except her siblings, who got very annoying very quickly. Lionkit's attention began to wander as she grew older she had a very hard time entertaining herself. After the fifth time she nearly poisoned herself, the medicine cat gladly kicked her out and back into the nursery along with her mother and siblings. The nursery was a busy place, filled with two other queens and their army of kits. With the addition of Wildflower and her kits, the nursery was bursting at the seams. Lionkit could not be any happier! There were new cats to meet and new kits to impress with her pouncing skills; except, these kits were a lot harder to impress than her siblings. In an increasing bid to keep their attention, Lionkit resorted to what every kit longed for the most: the be let outside camp without supervision. The night came and Lionkit valiantly fought off sleep in favour of slipping out of her mothers paws and into the dark night. The night time adventure was less fun than she thought it would be. Her little kit-eyes could barely see two feet in front of her and she kept tripping over stick. One time she almost ran headlong into a tree! Not long after she left the camp, a dejected Lionkit turned and headed back. It was a little difficult finding her way back, but she miraculously did it. Bouncing back into the nursery excitedly, Lionkit couldn't wait to tell her siblings. She poked her siblings awake and was about to launch into her tale when something entered the nursery behind her. Something big. Now, Lionkit had never seen a fox before in her life, but she could recognize a predator when she saw one. So she did what any reasonable kit would do in this situation: scream her head off. The ensuing battle was messy and terrible traumatic for everyone involved. The end result was a dead fox and numerous ThunderClan casualties. Which included Wildflower and all of her kits; Lionkit, ironically, was the only exception. The ThunderClan cats were shocked! Never in their years had they ever heard of a fox daring enough to wander into camp like that. After some investigation, Lionkit's nighttime adventure came to light. It turned out that the fox had followed the kit's scent straight back to the camp. Thankfully, its eyes were bigger than its stomach. As punishment, Lionkit's apprenticeship was pushed back. It wasn't until she was 8 moons old that Lionkit finally became Lionpaw. Her mentor was a tom named Darksky who had exactly zero interest in training an apprentice. Correction: He had zero interest in training Lionpaw, the kit who inadvertently caused the death of his mate. On top of starting her apprenticeship late, Lionpaw pretty much had to train herself based on what she saw other mentors teach their apprentices and a mix of trial and error when it came to hunting. One evening, Lionpaw went out hunting by herself like any other day. Today just happened to be the day she ran into a badger. There was no way a cat of her size could fight off a badger, but she didn't want a repeat of the incident with the fox. So Lionpaw took off running towards the Twoleg Place. She ran between the twoleg dens and along Thunderpaths until she eventually lost the badger. But in the process she became hopelessly lost herself. For a while, Lionpaw considered just giving up on finding her way back to ThunderClan and just become a kittypet. It wasn't like anyone would miss her; but she couldn't find it in herself to give up so easily. Instead Lionpaw limped back to ThunderClan. The leader was furious when he found out Darksky had let his 9 moon old apprentice wander the territory alone. He actually handed Lionpaw to Frostpool to be mentored. Under Frostpool's teaching, Lionpaw flourished. Unfortunately she failed her first assessment because of her time under Darksky's tender loving care. It wasn't until she helped her clanmates fight off a horde of rats invading their borders that she finally earned her warrior name: Lionsong. |
